NFV evangelists make much of the vibrancy, flexibility and competitiveness of the IT vendor environment that first saw the emergence of NFV. However, grafting that onto a telecoms rootstock is a tricky task. The telecoms sector has very different history and set of requirements not the least being a guaranteed "carrier grade" level of uptime and throughput. The Intel Network Builders initiative with its emphasis on partnership and collaboration contributes immeasurably to ensuring the ecosystem works to provide NFV solutions that CSPs can trust, rely on - and make money from.
