Dr John Naylon, CTO, CBNL
Point-to-multipoint was originally designed with conventional residential and business access services in mind. But it turns out to be an ideal small cell backhaul solution, says Dr John Naylon. Why? Mostly cost: telcos want to install small cells at 10 per cent or less the cost of a macro cell. Not only does point-to-multipoint radio do well on costs it's also very flexible. It can even play a statistical multiplexing role.
Filmed at: Small Cells World Summit, London, 10 June 2014.
