Three-day event focused on business and technology of network security, reliability and sustainability. Industry gathering featuring C-level summit, virtual event and technology demonstration to be held in Dallas, Texas, Technology Corridor.
Arlington, Va. – When global Internet outages create communications and economic chaos … when a company's bottom line plummets because of a competitor's superior operational and energy efficiency … when providers of Cloud services lose money during prolonged downtime caused by their data center host … and when understaffed IT organizations are overwhelmed by system complexity: These are the real-life scenarios challenging the people Inside the Network.
Facilitating business and technical conversations in a global marketplace about how to plan for the best on the Network – while avoiding the worst – is the mission of TIA 2011: Inside the Network. The event is being launched May 17-20, 2011 at the Gaylord Texan (adjacent to the Dallas-Ft. Worth airport) by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the trade association representing the architects and builders of the Network and the information and communications technology (ICT) industry.
The Network – a multifaceted, elaborate blend of broadband technologies and components, wireless and fixed architectures, applications, protocols, standards and regulations – enables the multitude of services we all take for granted, such as smart phones, videoconferencing and business being conducted via "the Cloud."
"The challenge facing those Inside the Network," said TIA president Grant Seiffert, "is how telecommunications service providers and equipment vendors will continue to innovate in response to the onslaught of demand for high-bandwidth applications that are stressing network infrastructure capacity. TIA's new industry event is a meeting, technology demonstration and educational platform designed to help members flourish and remain competitive."
Three distinct elements make up the event:
1. On Wednesday, May 18, TIA will host a one-day C-level Summit focused on the future success of the Network, including networking opportunities, strategic conversations, and leadership perspectives from vertical market sectors.
2. Concurrently, TIA will kick off the Inside the Network Conference and Exhibits, featuring:
- The TIA Broadband Policy and Regulatory Summit
- Meetings and matchmaking
- Technology tours
- Standards update
- Controversial, thought-provoking keynote panels
3. From April 2011 through June 2011, TIA will hold a live, state-of-the-art virtual tradeshow, or Digital Marketplace, using online tools to enable marketing, business networking and educational activities supporting the live event.
How companies plan for growth will differentiate them from their competitors.
Telecom regulations, net neutrality, cloud computing, data centers, energy efficiency, sustainability and disruptions to the value chain from players such as Google, Skype, Amazon and utilities are topics swirling around the evolution of the Network and must be addressed through new business models.
The event's educational conference will concentrate on providing strategic, business and technical training for network operators, manufacturers, vendors and distributors. In addition, the sessions will highlight the importance of sustainability, energy efficiency, the green economy and Smart Grid solutions through presentations and training for energy companies, utilities, and rural and independent service providers.
Proximity to Central and South America will enable convenient participation for international visitors from that region.
