During filming for the Connected States of America documentary, TelecomTV's Guy Daniels visited the headquarters of Google to learn more about the company's plans to create a Fibre City.
In an exclusive interview with Google Chief Technology Advocate, Michael Jones, it now appears that there may be more than one winner -- good news to the 11,000 cities that want the prize.
"Our hope is that we'll have several winners, because between those cities could emerge uses of video conferencing or webcams that would be interesting and that wouldn't be possible if all the winners were in the same place," said Michael Jones.
He also commented on the National Broadband Plan and gave details of Google's aims to further support and facilitate broadband usage.
