Qosmos Gains Momentum with Network Intelligence Technology

Qosmos today announced a 50% increase in revenue between 2008 and 2009 and that it has grown tenfold since 2005. This growth, combined with the completion of two strategic, multi-year contracts with top tier customers and the signing of customers in new application areas, confirm the wide market need for real-time visibility into data crossing networks.

Qosmos Network Intelligence technology identifies and extracts data traveling over networks in real time, providing a true picture of its purpose, use and value. A real-time view of data activity is crucial for a wide variety of applications such as lawful interception, cyber security, traffic optimization, Quality of Service (QoS) management, content billing, and market research.

In 2009, the company signed on several new customers – systems integrators, independent software vendors and equipment makers – who integrate Qosmos Network Intelligence technology into their solutions for better performance, while reducing internal costs and accelerating time to market.

Strategic partnerships with top-tier organizations in Europe and Asia.

These multi-year contracts illustrate the increasingly important role that Qosmos technology plays in visualizing communication traffic and strengthening solutions which protect and optimize networks.

• Mantaro Product Development Services, an engineering and design firm that specializes in embedded systems for medical devices, manufacturing systems, testing equipment and more, is using Qosmos technology to deliver turnkey cyber security systems for government and enterprise customers.
• Utimaco, a leading global provider of lawful interception systems, has implemented Qosmos ixMachine probes in their lawful interception solution LIMS to provide deeper, real-time network analysis at higher throughput of network data.
• Vedicis, a provider of advanced content analysis and control products for the broadband industry, is integrating Qosmos ixEngine into its intelligent flow management solution, improving its efficiency with enhanced protocol recognition and analysis, for better application classification and user policy management.

Investments in product innovation and operations set the stage for continued momentum

The company’s recent customer wins cap off a year of other significant achievements in 2009, including:

• Product innovation: The release of Qosmos ixEngine 5, the company’s flagship Software Development Kit, which offers network equipment providers, system integrators and software vendors a range of powerful new capabilities to mine more network data among an expanded set of applications, at higher speeds and with additional usability. Qosmos also released a version of ixEngine specifically designed to enhance cyber security solutions for governments, including features that strengthen situational awareness for enhanced protection of the most sensitive networks. The launch of Qosmos ixMachine LI Edition, a range of software and probes optimized for the requirements of Lawful Intercept, enables LI application vendors to more precisely detect, mitigate and prevent illicit and criminal activity.
  Qosmos also expanded its platform support to include Cavium Networks’ OCTEON Multicore MIPS64 Processor, as well as Tilera’s TILEPro64 multicore processor, delivering high speed performance for the most demanding networks.
• Awards and rankings: Qosmos iX Engine won the “Readers Trust Award for Best in Network Intelligence Technology and Security Solution for Governments” from the Network Products Guide. Qosmos earned placement as #32 on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 France and #182 on Fast 500 EMEA in 2009, rankings which formally recognize the fastest-growing technology companies.

• International Business Expansion: In addition to Qosmos’s headquarters in Paris and US base in Washington, DC, the company opened an office in Singapore this year, strengthening its support and sales activities while moving closer to a growing customer base.
