European telco, Colt and IT specialist Unisys are going to work together on Cloud offerings: Unisys will provide Colt with infrastructure, cloud management software and services, the companies have announced today. By Ian Scales.
The agreement will see the development of six data centres within Colt’s European ‘footprint’. Unisys will implement a cloud computing environment, which will be installed in Colt’s secure data centres.
Colt will provide a range of infrastructure, platform and virtualised desktop services based on this platform, and both companies will deliver cloud-based services to their customers across Europe.

Colt says the new services will form an essential part of its enterprise cloud strategy. Unisys will address the complex software and hardware architecture underpinning existing customer applications – enabling them to move “as is” to a cloud operating model. Unisys is manage its cloud-based infrastructure using the Unisys Converged Remote Infrastructure Management Suite of solutions.
