Mobile operator Orange has launched a Book Club application on Android where users can download 23,000 eBooks and audio books via a ‘one-click buy’ system that bills directly to the user’s phone bill.

“Unlike many other eBook services on the market, ours allows you to purchase with a single click, making it easier than ever before to download your next must-read novel - wherever you are," said Stuart Jackson, Brand Communications Director at Orange.

Following on last year’s launch of the online and mobile web version of Orange Book Club, the app will work across platforms, allowing users to access their account and read books across multiple devices including their phone, tablet or PC.

Classics, bestsellers and Orange Prize for Fiction books can be downloaded for as little as 50 pence. The Orange Book Club app for Android also includes sample chapters, bookmarks and personalisation options for editing font, text and background colours.

The Orange Book Club Android app is compatible with all Android devices and is also available for Java, Symbian and Blackberry devices.
