This is a critical issue and very much needs an urgent resolution. We at Moobila.com have recognized this and produced a privacy Apps for Android phones since these are the most hacked.

The phone being hacked is less of an issue than overreach by app providers and the way permissions are granted to apps in Android. It is a way that gives the user no information why an app needs a particular permission and requires the user to make a choice between giving the app all the permissions it is asking for or not using the app.

There are much better ways to handle permissions.
