BYOD (Bring your own device) has become a handy piece of shorthand to describe a corporate mobile policy where employees bring their favourite smartphones to work. But BYOD has a range of problems that will need to be addressed if corporates are to take this route - not just security, but concerning many other issues arising within the device life cycle. It is interesting that this piece was created on April 24th - because there is growing discussion and polarisation around BYOD. It is time someone (SOCITM) looked at the whole debate and some serious trials done. I am hearing that BYOD is costly (Blackpool), yet others seem to counter that. Let's see the facts.
