Just six months after opening for business, the upstart French mobile operator has attracted 3.6 million subscribers. Having already taken a 5.4 per cent market share (mainly at the expense of Bouygues, France Telecom and SFR) Free Mobile says will take a 25 per cent market share "in due course". Disruption is oft-mentioned in telecoms but usually the thing described is not a 'real' disruption (like a major rail accident, for instance) but rather a competitive annoyance.
