Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) participated alongside industry peers in the Economie Entreprises LIVE event to discuss the development of the telecommunications industry and its role in the advancement of competitive economies.
As 5G brings new capabilities that create opportunities for people, businesses, and society, its deployment is set to penetrate every region by 2026 bringing enormous growth potential for Communications Service Providers (CSPs).
Speaking at the event, Nora Wahby, Vice President and Head of Customer Unit West Africa and Morocco at Ericsson Middle East and Africa said: “We are preparing for a successful 5G introduction with our long-time telecommunications partners to make 5G a reality in Morocco. This includes jointly exploring 5G-use cases to address market needs, prepare the networks for this technological shift and engage in tri-party industry dialogue. We remain committed to creating intelligent technologies that drive positive change across all sections of the society and we look forward to helping Morocco achieve its digital transformation vision under the Morocco Digital 2025 strategy through a collaborative and fruitful relationship in the coming future.”.
Ericsson has played a definitive role in creating the mobile world evolving with the technological landscape to redefine how countries, governments, businesses, and people are able to connect and become more mobile – physically, socially, and economically.
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is the catalyst for digital transformation, with mobile networks being the crucial ingredient in increasing Morocco’s and subsequently North Africa’s economic competitiveness in the global arena. As digital infrastructure and transactions become increasingly impactful to the development of societies and economies, affordable broadband access will need to be extended to bridge the digital divide and enable them to reap the benefits of the digital economy.
In Morocco since 1984, Ericsson has played a key role in the telecommunications landscape of the nation. 5G can help create a future for Morocco that is smarter, safer, more sustainable, and more inclusive. With higher data speeds and lower latency, 5G has the potential to enhance user experience in the country and enable key industries such as agriculture, education, manufacturing, and healthcare.
