Qualcomm sees the two main industries that are going to be massive impacted by 5G adoption as being automotive and industrial IoT. Both rely on mission critical services where security is a fundamental element. But there is also a significant opportunity in the consumer market. Just one year ago, the industry was focused on accelerating the 5G standards in order to create real products. Since then, Qualcomm has been working with its OEM partners to help them create commercial smartphones and devices available in stores. This is expected to happen in the next months, a year ahead of schedule.
