The first 5G World event in London attracted a range of vendors, operators and ecosystem partners. And of course, a connected car or two. The major infrastructure players were keen to showcase their latest 5G-ready technology, and there was plenty of debate about services and use cases.
In TelecomTV's exclusive report from the event, we hear from Nokia and its plans for network slicing, together with details of its commercial 5G-ready network. Ericsson teamed up with King's College London to demonstrate robotic surgery using the tactile internet. Qualcomm spoke of its belief that OFDM will be the cornerstone of the new radio access technology and how it is already planning for higher mmW frequencies. Meanwhile, Oracle was promoting the concept of micro services and Accedian Networks was tackling the complex issue of live testing and performance measurement in a virtualised network.
