Washington: The ITW Global Leaders’ Forum (GLF) announced today that its members have elected Elisabetta Romano, CEO of Sparkle, as the Chair of the GLF Board. As GLF Chair, Elisabetta will play a pivotal role in continuing to realise the collaborative work and strategic vision of the GLF’s members, who include many of the largest international ICT service providers carriers globally. “It is a great honour being elected as Chair of this prestigious association”, commented Elisabetta Romano, CEO of Sparkle. “As a member of the ITW Global Leaders’ Forum, over the last few years I have appreciated and fully shared the principles that drive its activity and the extraordinary work done in promoting development and transformation in an industry where coopetition is key. During my tenure, I would like to contribute toward the creation of value for profitable growth of the industry. We haven’t exploited yet the full potential of the Edge, and we are still in the early days of Web3 and decentralized intelligence. We shall also intensify strategic alliances with industry organizations and create new streams of collaboration with technology vendors. I am sure that, bringing back technology to the core of the industry, we will do great things together and I am thrilled to do my part”. Elisabetta succeeds Laurinda Pang, President of Global Customer Success at Lumen, who served as the GLF Chair since 2020. “I’ll always be proud of the great work done by the GLF over the past two years to keep the world connected despite the challenges posed by Covid. In many ways, it gave us an opportunity to prove how interconnectivity is an essential service for communities everywhere in the world,” says Laurinda Pang. “Elisabetta understands the value of diversity and will bring a fresh perspective to the challenges ahead. She'll provide valuable leadership as the GLF pivots beyond our traditional purpose of ‘connecting the world’ and addresses new issues, such as ESG, trust in technology, advancing automation, and next-gen interoperability.”
