  • Optus has become the first carrier in the Australian market to hit optical transport speeds of 800Gb/s across its high-speed, ultra-low latency long-haul network on both coastal and inland routes between Sydney and Melbourne.
  • Optus was able to facilitate the live network trial by leveraging its spectrum sharing capabilities over its recently upgraded 400 Gigabits per second (Gbps) network.
  • Optus has also awarded the refresh of the Melbourne-Adelaide-Perth route to Nokia, with the ability to provide unregenerated end-to-end services over 4,000km at minimum 400Gbps per channel, leveraging the Nokia PSE-6s solution.
