Tate Cantrell, Chief Technology Officer, Verne Global
Verne Global provides data centres in Iceland for automotive makers to offer IT services to their customers. For example, BMW can run its high performance computer simulations on Verne's Iceland campus for 80 per cent less energy costs than other locations. The automotive industry wants to grow, yet 60 per cent of cars sold in Europe are retailed at a loss. However, there is revenue growth in telematics and IT services, which in turn lead to better experiences for customers and hence improved brand recognition and sales for manufacturers.
