It can be difficult to identify objective reality amid the marketing hype now surrounding network transformation and the technologies that enable it. So, how much of the hype is real and how much is just self-justifying and self-sustaining verbiage? Meanwhile, much is being made of the benefits that CSPs can gain from strategic investment in the network but it is notable that some companies are reluctant to commit to transformation. Could it be that today's digital networks are so dauntingly complex, and the investments already made in legacy infrastructure (which, after all still works perfectly well ) so expensive, that for some network operators the process of transformation simply isn't worth the candle.
