Nov 15, 2016

Jéhanne Savi, All-IP & On-Demand Networks Programs Executive, Orange

Jéhanne Savi talks about Orange's ongoing testing (in Poland) of AT&T's ECOMP platform (Enhanced Control, Orchestration, Management and Policy) platform for creating and managing a software-defined network. AT&T built ECOMP with the express intention of making it available to other operators and developers and has committed to releasing ECOMP as open source software in conjunction with the Linux Foundation. It is an infrastructure delivery platform and a scalable, comprehensive network cloud service and provides automation, service assurance, performance management, fault management and SDN task. As such it is designed to work with OpenStack but is also extensible to other cloud and compute environments to power software-centric networks. As Jéhanne Savi explains, Orange is the first telco to join AT&T's ECOMP initiative and she believes that such collaborative partnerships are indicative of changed times and is a prime exemplar of the new way forward in a transforming technological and business environments.
