Broadcom Inc.and TIM today announced a new era of collaboration where the companies will enter an expanded cloud services partnership. TIM will become a new VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) Pinnacle tier partner in the Broadcom Advantage Partner Program to help mutual enterprise customers to innovate by adopting VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) as their private cloud infrastructure. TIM intends to deliver new managed VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) private cloud services, including sovereign cloud services that support data residency and other jurisdictional controls. TIM Enterprise will support customers through its data centres and widespread presence throughout Italy with the 'TIM Cloud Flex' offer enabling the creation of a private and hybrid cloud infrastructure that is accessible, flexible and integrated between different cloud systems.
“As a Pinnacle partner, TIM’s expertise, experience and influence in the industry will play a crucial role in helping to lead VMware customers on their cloud journey,” said Ahmar Mohamed, vice president, partners, managed services, and solutions GTM, VMware Cloud Foundation Division at Broadcom. “The VCSP Pinnacle tier is designed to build stronger relationships with our most valued VCSP partners to help customers implement a highly efficient cloud operating model that combines public cloud scale and agility with private cloud security and performance.”
“TIM Cloud Flex, built on the new VMware Cloud Foundation, will provide a managed private and hybrid cloud experience so customers can focus on delivering their business priorities rather than running IT operations,” said Elio Schiavo, Chief Enterprise and Innovative Solutions Officer at TIM. “Our common goal is to accelerate the digital transformation of enterprises by offering the best solutions for private and hybrid cloud with greater choice and flexibility in order to address the most complex market challenges and achieve key business objectives”.
Today, TIM Cloud Flex offers a catalog of cloud services based on VMware which can be combined with managed services and professional services to provide customers with a scalable and versatile enterprise-grade cloud architecture that adapts to changing business requirements. TIM will add VMware Cloud Foundation to this portfolio of services, helping organizations modernize infrastructure with the best possible TCO, deliver a frictionless self-service experience for developers with consolidated VM and container-based workload support on a single platform, and provide enterprise-grade resiliency and security. TIM intends to support the new license portability feature of VCF in the TIM Cloud Flex offer, which will put into place a flexible hybrid cloud experience for customers. Customers can leverage the experience, custom services, and breadth of resources of TIM to optimize project delivery at scale, align costs to workload needs, offload service complexity and automation, and address industry or regulatory compliance requirements.
