Lenovo today announced it has signed the European Commission’s AI Pact, underscoring its dedication to developing trustworthy AI systems aligned with global safety and ethical standards. This voluntary initiative supports Lenovo’s wider commitment to delivering Smarter AI for all and taking proactive steps to advance responsible AI practices across its operations and portfolio of solutions, services, and devices.

By becoming a signatory, Lenovo pledges to adopt a comprehensive AI governance strategy, identifying and mitigating risks associated with high-risk AI systems. The company will also work to enhance AI literacy among its employees and implement robust data quality measures for AI model training. Furthermore, Lenovo commits to increasing transparency by clearly labeling AI-generated content and ensuring users are informed when interacting with AI technologies.

“Driving responsible AI is something we charge everyone with doing at Lenovo – from the tools we use and how transparent we are about our use of AI to how we innovate and create products, services, and solutions,” said Doug Fisher, Chief Security and AI Officer at Lenovo. “With governance at the core of what we do, we ensure we maintain the trust of our customers today and help them navigate the fast-moving landscape of AI in a responsible way into the future too.”

The AI Pact invites organizations to voluntarily align with key provisions of the AI Act before its official implementation. The initiative fosters constructive dialogue between policymakers and AI leaders, encouraging transparency, best practices, and collaboration.

Lenovo’s participation in the AI Pact highlights the company’s proactive approach to preparing for the forthcoming AI regulatory environment and making such considerations foundational to AI-related services and solutions.
