Lumen Technologies Accelerates Cloud Modernization with Informatica

Redwood City, CA -- Informatica (NYSE: INFA), a leader in enterprise AI-powered cloud data management, today announced that Lumen Technologies, a global integrated network solutions provider, has successfully modernized their on-premises PowerCenter workloads to Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform, accelerating time-to-value and minimizing migration costs and effort in its expansion to the cloud.

Lumen faced several data and IT challenges caused by mergers and acquisitions, such as data quality, latency, duplication and reconciliation issues. Lumen partnered with Informatica to create a centralized data platform to consolidate its on-premises data and warehouses. Informatica’s AI-powered IDMC platform allowed Lumen to work within a single platform to streamline network assets, cloud connectivity, security solutions and collaboration tools.

"Data reconciliation took hours of work a month and was often outdated and unreliable," said Brian Bergquist, Senior Manager of Software Engineering and Data Governance at Lumen Technologies. "With the Informatica PowerCenter Modernization Program, we were able to free up our valuable business resources to focus on analytics and forecasting, instead of data repair. We also reduced deployment time significantly by using automated tools that converted thousands of on-premises PowerCenter mappings to IDMC at the speed and scale that our business needed, saving us money, time and effort."

“Our goal with Lumen was to make the modernization process to a cloud-native data management solution seamless while keeping an eye on the cost and timeline,” said Pratik Parekh, SVP of Product Development at Informatica. “We worked with the Lumen team to identify ways to reuse existing PowerCenter assets and move those workloads to the cloud while leveraging the business logic in the cloud, ensuring that business-critical applications remained up and running during the modernization journey.”
