Singapore – The Singtel Group today announced changes to its senior management, a move designed to strengthen its leadership bench strength and support the new business priorities of its Singtel28 growth plan. All changes will take effect 1 January 2025.

Reorganisation and new appointments

The Group’s Business Development function will be expanded and renamed International Digital Services, led by Ms Anna Yip as CEO. The unit will focus on building new telco-related digital services in the region, strengthening partnerships and enhancing synergies across the Group and regional associates. Ms Yip will relinquish her role as Singtel Singapore’s Deputy CEO, which she has held since the integration of the Singapore consumer and enterprise units.

Singtel veteran Mr Mark Chong will be appointed Group Chief Corporate Officer. He returns from a two-year secondment to Thai regional associate AIS where he serves as Deputy CEO. Mr Chong has held various roles in his 27 years with Singtel, the most recent being the Group’s Chief Technology Officer from 2017 to 2022.

Ms Lim Cheng Cheng will be stepping down from her role as Group Chief Corporate Officer as she leaves the company for a new professional opportunity. Since joining Singtel in 2012 as Vice President of Group Strategic Investment, she has held key leadership positions including Managing Director, Group Strategic Investment and Group CFO.

Expanding the management bench

In addition, the Group Management Committee will be expanded to include 2 new executives.

Ms Gan Siok Hoon, currently Managing Director of Group Finance, will be appointed Deputy Group Chief Corporate Officer. Ms Gan has been with Singtel for 25 years, during which she held various leadership positions including Deputy CFO of Optus and Managing Director of Consumer Sales and Marketing, Singtel Singapore.

Mr Sam Liew, Chief Executive of NCS’ Government Strategic Business Group, the digital catalyst for governments across Asia Pacific, will also be appointed to the Group Management Committee. Before joining NCS in 2021, Mr Liew served as Managing Director of the Technology Group at GIC and, prior to that, as Managing Director of Accenture's ASEAN technology division.

Mr Stephen Rue, who started his CEO tenure at Optus in Australia on 4 November, is also part of the Group Management Committee which has now expanded to 13 members from 11.

Mr Yuen Kuan Moon, Singtel Group CEO said, “We are reorganising and strengthening our leadership bench as we move into the next phase of our Singtel28 growth plan. These moves will support our new business priorities after we restructured our business to focus on connectivity, digital services and digital infrastructure over the past three years. With Stephen on board, Mark’s return to the Group, and the inclusion of Siok Hoon and Sam as new members of the Group Management Committee, we are well-positioned to continue executing our Singtel28 plan, lifting business performance, and delivering sustained value to our shareholders.”

He added, “I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Cheng for her valuable contributions to the company over the years and wish her the very best in her future endeavours.”
