SK Telecom (NYSE:SKM, “SKT”) announced today that it will participate in CES 2024, which will be held in Las Vegas from January 9 to 12, 2024, to showcase SK Group’s efforts towards achieving net zero as well as AI technologies of SK ICT affiliates.
SKT will operate a joint exhibition booth with SK Inc., SK Innovation, SK hynix, SK E&S, SK Ecoplant and SKC under the theme of “Inspire Happiness” in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. “SK ICT Family Demo Room” will also be operated to introduce diverse AI technologies of SKT and SK hynix.
SK’s CES booth, about 1,850 square feet in size, will feature an interactive amusement park, called “SK Wonderland,” where visitors can experience a net zero world that no longer suffers from climate crisis, along with the value of everyday life marked by happiness and sustainability.
SKT will take visitors on a “Magic Carpet” ride, allowing them to experience a future mobility system through its urban air mobility (UAM) technology, AI semiconductor SAPEON, LITMUS Plus, an AI-enhanced system for analyzing indoor and outdoor mobility and networks, and Virtual Power Plant (VPP) for new and renewable energy.
Visitors will be able to experience the power of SAPEON, an AI semiconductor that boasts more efficient power usage and faster processing speeds than competing products, as well as the safe operation of the UAM service via accurate analysis of data from cameras and radar sensors attached to the aircraft.
Moreover, together with SK hynix, SKT will operate the “SK ICT Family Demo Room” in the Hospitality Zone located on the north side of the Central Hall to display various AI technologies.
The Demo Room will showcase a total of ten AI services and technologies, including SKT’s key AI technologies such as AI-enhanced system for analyzing indoor and outdoor mobility and networks, LITMUS Plus; AI-based veterinary X-ray image diagnosis assistance service, X Caliber; and AI Quantum Camera, which can be applied to areas like robotics, security, media and healthcare. SAPEON’s latest AI semiconductor X330 and SK hynix’s semiconductor technologies will also be introduced.
In particular, the highly efficient next-generation AI Data Center model, which provides a full stack of SK Group's data center-related technologies, including liquid immersion cooling technology SKT successfully verified in November and SK Broadband’s AI-based data center infrastructure management (DCIM) knowhow, will also be unveiled in the Demo Room.
AI Media Studio, a media processing and content quality enhancement platform that uses AI to upscale old videos, reduce noise and separate sound sources, and generate, translate and synchronize subtitles, will also be on display.
Meanwhile, within the Demo Room, SKT will also set up a total of five business meeting spaces, including a large conference room that can accommodate up to 16 people, to actively promote business cooperation with global partners.
“We are pleased to introduce innovative AI and eco-friendly technologies of SK ICT affiliates at CES 2024,” said Park Kyu-hyun, Vice President and Head of Digital Communication at SKT. “Through this event, we will actively promote our AI technologies and capabilities as we move forward to become a global AI company."
