Oct 7, 2020
This UK Black History Month, World Wide Technology (WWT), a market-leading $12 billion technology solutions provider, is today announcing its membership of Minority Supplier Development UK, furthering the company’s commitment to championing people of African and Caribbean heritage across its supply chain.
MSDUK brings together innovative, high growth EMBS (ethnic minority-owned businesses) and global corporations to drive towards a more inclusive and representative supply chain. Since 2006, MSDUK has worked with over 125 global brands and more than 1,500 EMBs, introducing hundreds of new ideas, products, and supply chain solutions, and securing £735m worth of business for EMBs.
“We are excited to announce that we are officially a corporate partner of the Minority Supplier Diversity UK (MSDUK)” says David Steward, Chairman and founder of WWT. “The MSDUK is a sister organization of National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC) in the USA. The NMSDC and its Regional Affiliates have played a significate role in WWT’s growth as a company and the development of our Supplier Diversity program. We look forward to duplicating these efforts in the UK through the MSDUK and building strong relationships with its participating corporate entities and certified minority and women-owned businesses.”
Mayank Shah, Founder & CEO at MSDUK said, “We are excited to see one of the largest US minority-owned companies join the MSDUK to partner with UK based minority-owned companies. The next stage of growth for minority businesses is to go global, and WWT is a living example of this. We look forward to helping WWT work with corporates and ethnic minority businesses in the UK to extend its footprint across Europe.”
WWT firmly believes that supplier diversity enriches the ecosystem as a whole, and presents greater opportunities for businesses to achieve long-term growth and sustainability. Diversity in gender, race, sexuality and background leads to richer thoughts and ideas, which have been a critical enabler of WWT’s success since the company was founded 30 years ago.
