Toktam Mahmoodi, Assistant Professor in Telecommunications, Kings College London
Researchers at Kings College London are working closely with the healthcare sector in the city to develop ultra-low latency wireless technology that could meet their future needs, in areas such as remote surgery where near-instant tactile feedback is required for successful applications. But how important is it that the telecoms industry engage with this and other verticals now, prior to completing the standardisation of 5G? Ultra-low latency work is also an opportunity to implement advanced AI techniques to predict and interpolate signals.
