Whilst NFV is predominantly applicable to the telecoms industry, it is more than that - especially to the server community. Jai Menon believes that with server workloads constantly increasing over the next three to five years, by 2020 at least a quarter of all the servers in the world will be running NFV. And while common-or-garden clouds will run routine services "High Velocity Clouds" will be needed for packets, provisioning and management and for real-time analytics.
