Faster service turn-up is one the most important benefits that telcos hope to derive from their huge investments in NFV and SDN, says Mark. What service providers require is an orchestration layer to automate that turn-up process, but the key to that is to build a modern OSS ‘service catalogue’ first. It’s no good having a great NFV stack if its allied to an outmoded OSS.
