  • Partnering with EGDC underlines United Group’s ambition to set new, greener industry standards
  • The European Green Digital Coalition is supported by high-level EU bodies and brings together leading digital companies from across Europe.

United Group, the leading telecommunications and media provider in Southeastern Europe, is pleased to announce that it has officially become a member of the European Green Digital Coalition (EGDC). This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone for United Group as it aligns with their vision of fostering sustainable growth through digital innovation.

The EGDC is an initiative of companies, which aims to harness the enabling emission-reducing potential of digital solutions to all other sectors. The initiative is supported by the European Commission and the European Parliament. To date, 36 ICT companies have joined the Coalition by signing the Declaration and meeting the membership criteria. To join the EGDC, a company must be involved in digital transformation, operate in Europe, be committed to greening the ICT sector and meet the membership criteria.

Victoriya Boklag, CEO of United Group, stated: “Joining the European Green Digital Coalition aligns with our vision of fostering sustainable growth through digital innovation. By collaborating with other industry leaders in the EGDC, we aim to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable digital economy. We are committed to empowering our stakeholders, customers, and communities to embrace greener practices through the adoption of digital solutions. By providing innovative tools and platforms, we aim to facilitate their transition to more sustainable operations, creating a ripple effect that extends far beyond our own business. Together, we can build a more sustainable future for all.”

In joining EGDC, United Group reaffirms its pledge to sustainability. The company has set ambitious goals, including achieving net-zero emissions across its entire value chain by 2040. Key initiatives include reducing carbon footprints, enhancing energy efficiency, and promoting circular economy practices within the telecom and media sectors. United Group’s membership in EGDC provides access to a network of industry leaders and fosters collaboration on innovative environmental initiatives. By joining forces with EGDC, United Group will advance its impactful projects and promote sustainable development through enhanced greener connectivity by implementing cutting-edge solutions. In doing so, United Group aims not only to advance its own sustainability goals but also to set new industry standards.
