From technology point of view, Hutchison Drei Austria GmbH says it cannot implement network equipment in the traditional way, it needs to be more flexible, agile and cost efficient, to be able to meet the new challenges of its customers as fast as possible. With any new service, especially data-based ones and with the added future complexity of IoT and 5G, the telco needs to look at NFV to enable the transformation of its network. Hutchison Drei Austria GmbH is heavily involved in standardisation and works closely with vendors as the technology evolves. In fact, it says vendor partnerships are far more important now than before, with the need to explore and specify functionality at very early stage.
