At the HPE Discover London event this week, Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced new solutions to help organisations rapidly and cost-effectively deploy IoT devices in wide area, enterprise and industrial deployments. Among the solutions are enhancements to the HPE Universal IoT Platform. As HPE’s Nigel Upton explains in our exclusive video, the platform now supports management of both SIM and non-SIM based devices across different systems, devices, and applications. There is also increased LoRa gateway support, given the significant interest of late in using this non-cellular technology for IoT.

One of HPE’s new partners for its IoT activities is satellite service provision company Inmarsat. Paul Gudonis, President of Inmarsat’s Enterprise business, explains how they are using the IoT platform alongside their core satellite service to enable sensor networks to be deployed anywhere, reaching the most remote places on Earth.
