Marco Loetscher, Solution Architect, IPTV Development & Technology, Swisscom

Swisscom is one of the early adopters of IP, standardisation and virtualisation, says Marco Loetscher, and first launched an IPTV service in 2006. One of its objectives now is to help the media industry along the same path by re-using its own experience in ‘cloudifying’ its network to help build clouds for others. To this end it is working with HPE to co-develop some tools to assist the process. HPE’s microservices platform which, amongst other things, acts as an API gateway and integration platform between technical and business systems, is an important component in this mix, explains Marco.
