Sarb Sembhi, Cyber-security expert, ISACA
As the industry evolves and traditional insurance companies find themselves perforce working with disruptive start-ups who come fresh from the IT industry rather than from within the insurance sector itself, a clash of cultures and differences in outlook are inevitable. As Sarb Sembhi of ISACA (or the Information Systems Audit and Control Association as the organisation used to be called) explains, the newcomers impact on the industry will be profound but the sector is mistaken if it thinks that the problems it faces as far as data encryption, security, privacy and sovereignty are concerned are unique to the industry because they are not. He says that what is needed is a change of outlook.
