IT security specialist Andrew Yeomans says the current IoT industry, in terms of security, is like the early days of the PC industry when there so few standards and each vendor was building their solution their own way. There will be consolidation and a few standard architectures and device types will emerge in the next few years, hopefully selecting architectures with security designed into them... It is much easier to try and implement security measures at the design stage rather than try to fix them at a later date.
