Joins GE Digital to organise Hackathon 2016 on Predix platform, a 24-hour coding contest

Hyderabad – September 16, 2016 – As the connected world becomes more real with more number of devices speaking with each other, Internet of Things (IoT) is expected to impact every sector whether it is manufacturing, medical, energy, transportation or industrial. This is also expected to create immense opportunities in terms of building capabilities around developing IoT solutions targeted to various industry segments.

In a definitive step in this direction, Tech Mahindra, a specialist in digital transformation, consulting and business re-engineering, today kick-started a 24-hour coding Hackathon targeted towards Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). As a part of this initiative organized in association with GE Digital, Tech Mahindra associates across four different locations in India used GE’s Predix, cloud-based platform for the Industrial Internet, to come out with industrial IoT applications.

“We are very pleased to host this hackathon leveraging one of the most robust IIoT platform, Predix, in collaboration with GE Digital,” said Arvind Malhotra, Global Head, Strategic Accounts & South America. GE’s Predix will allow the Manufacturing sector to enhance the uptime of equipment and improve productivity, and this should help India enhance the objectives of Prime Minister Modi's of "Make in India," he added.

For GE Digital, Tech Mahindra’s Hackathon 2016 on the Predix platform is the first round-the-clock, multi-city coding competition organized by a partner.

“In the digital industrial world, the ecosystem plays an important role, making it important for us to work in harmony to create solutions to add value to the customer,” said Denzil Samuels, Global Head of Channels, Alliances, Business Development & Ventures for GE Digital. “We value Tech Mahindra as an industry partner with such deep domain knowledge expertise and look forward to integrating our solutions in the most efficient way to improve customer experience.
