The MEF’s Certification Programs and initiatives like OpenCS and OpenLSO are paving the way for Third Network Services, which present both opportunities and challenges to service providers. NFV technologies are now enabling new network service features and SD-WAN is emerging as a strategic opportunity for those providers already invested in SDN. Vertical Systems has also undertaken a Carrier Ethernet Certified Professional Benchmark study on behalf of the MEF, which underlines the importance and value of certification.
