5G spans many different use cases, and represents an opportunity to expand the use of wireless communications. There is a need to create one single standard and network for future wireless systems, and vendors such as Ericsson want to avoid having to create separate infrastructure-based solutions for individual industries, rather adding support and functionality for new industries through software additions to the network.
