Has NFV become the 'S' in SDN?

One of the things people were remarking on at SDN & OpenFlow World Congress 2014, was how NFV had now taken over and SDN was in many ways the Cinderella. "I originally thought seven years or so ago, that SDN would be the vehicle via which you could transform the network," Prodip Sen tells Martyn Warwick. But leading with SDN wasn't so easy, he explains, as it was hard to justify a business case in isolation. "When NFV came along it became the business case." So how long will it take for SDN to really kick in? Prodip feels there are no technical barriers. "It's not a technology issue but one of operationalisation. It is: how do I fit this in to how I do things?"
