Mark Longwell, Red Hat; Paul Mundinger, Intel; and Jeff Kibodeaux, WWT

Red Hat, Intel and WWT are all involved in the open source Virtual Central Office (VCO) project, which was first demoed by the open source community a year ago. Virtualizing services in the central office remains one of the most compelling use cases for CSPs looking to transform networks, reduce costs, develop new services and lay the foundation for 5G. Version 3.0 of the VCO will be unveiled in November, comprising a fully containerized, end-to-end, global, 5G network built on open infrastructure using Kubernetes and other open source technologies. The project continues to attract the support of CSPs and ecosystem players, and more are welcome to join.

Featuring:

  • Mark Longwell, Director, OpenStack Partner Ecosystem, Red Hat
  • Paul Mundinger, NFV Solution Provider Manager, Intel
  • Jeff Kibodeaux, Business Development Manager, Worldwide Technology (WWT)
