«In today’s world, many companies are deeply concerned about cybersecurity risks and potential damage to their customers or their business. Protecting data, infrastructure and operations is a top priority for companies of all sizes. In response to our customers’ needs, we’ve entered into a strategic cooperation with Accenture, a leading international providers of cybersecurity solutions,» explains Robert Redeleanu, Chief Business Officer of Sunrise. «By offering the modern Managed Detection and Response mitigation system together with Accenture, we’re setting a new cybersecurity standard as a one-stop shop. The plug-and-play managed service allows our customers to focus on their business while we take care of their cybersecurity.»
«Building a powerful Security Operations Centre (SOC) that monitors intelligently the constant threat level requires considerable expertise and resources,» explains Thomas Holderegger, Accenture’s Security Lead in Switzerland. «It’s not just about dealing with increasingly sophisticated attack patterns, the defensive mechanisms also need to be highly specialised. Working closely with Sunrise Business allows us to offer customers state-of-the-art technologies that provide effective protection against attacks and minimise cyber risks.»
Complex cyberattacks require more than just a standard level of protection
Companies, organisations, administrations, and public authorities all face cyberattacks. In December 2023 alone, 633 cyber incidents were reported to the Federal Office for Cybersecurity (BACS) by the Swiss population and companies. In comparison, 361 incidents were recorded in the same period in 2022. The annual peak occurred with 2,059 incidents in week 44. The trend for the rest of the year is available in the statistics from the BACS. The risks range from stolen data and paralysed business processes to ransom demands.
It is crucial that companies have reliable partners to respond to the wide range of threats. This is where the new cooperation between the consulting firm and cybersecurity specialist Accenture and Sunrise Business comes in. The cooperation will initially give business customers access to the Managed Detection and Response security service, with more services planned.
State-of-the-art cybersecurity as a managed service
The Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service will monitor a company’s entire IT landscape around the clock, 365 days a year. The protection extends from user devices (PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc.) and the company’s servers, applications, and networks, right through to cloud-based IT services (e.g. Software as a Service, or SaaS). By continuously analysing security and event logs, the early-warning system can detect and report risks and attacks rapidly and in real time. The Accenture team of leading cybersecurity specialists has extensive operational cyber defence experience. It uses a wealth of data on attack patterns, as well as experience and automation capabilities to detect attacks at the right time, to limit and ultimately to stop them. Business customers benefit from an intelligent, GenAI-based service that is constantly evolving and integrates the latest technological developments, and a Security Operations Centre with highly skilled experts.
