Robin Duke-Woolley, CEO and Founder, Beecham Research
While it’s exciting to talk about big numbers of devices for the IoT, it’s not very realistic, Robin tells Ian Scales. “The number of connections has been growing 20 to 30 per cent per year in terms of new connections and we’re not suddenly going to see 100 per cent plus growth and billions of new ones by 2020.” There’s still a huge opportunity but the problem is that we all get very excited about new technologies when we should be spending more time thinking about applications and how to match them to technologies and services.
