With China Telecom Americas adopting a multicloud strategy, we ask why the telco believes this is the best approach to harnessing cloud technologies and services for its workloads and applications. Does a multicloud strategy place greater demand on a telco to have a comprehensive, in-house, cloud-native skill set? Does it place greater demand on public cloud providers to have in-depth telco knowledge? And to what extent do they need to be experts on telco-specific workloads? We also ask what impact this model has on the hybrid cloud.
