Speaking as an expert witness during the session on “Will private 5G kill the wireless LAN?” at the Great Telco Debate, Telenor’s Terje Jensen outlined the strengths of CSPs when it comes to network design, delivery and management, and hence why telcos are so interested in private 5G opportunities. He added that the provision of a private network is also a way into further collaboration with enterprises and new service opportunities, although private 5G will likely coexist alongside Wi-Fi and wireless LANs.
