The Great Telco Debate

What are CSPs biggest challenges to becoming Digital Service Providers?

Video Analysis

What is the most difficult challenge for CSPs to become digital service providers; is it technology or is it a culture change? Moving away from building and operating a "network of vendor boxes" is quite a challenge, and the process will involve breaking down the internal silos that have grown over the years. But the result will be a more customer centric service provider that is better places to move selectively into adjacent markets. CSPs must also be prepared to work with other parties, sometimes subordinate to those companies, as they may no longer be the big fish in a relatively small pond. Instead, they need to fully understand the broader industrial ecosystem.

The Great Telco Debate brings together some of the world's leading thinkers and players in the telecoms ecosystem to debate the challenges and opportunities facing the telcos, suppliers, regulators and other interested parties. We asked speakers at the event to identify the biggest challenges faced by CSPs to becoming DSPs – digital service providers
