- Digital workbench in the cloud for software developers
- Combination of platform and backend as a service
Aug 03, 2016: For fast and secure digitization, T-Systems and Apinauten GmbH now offer enterprise IT developers a fully equipped workbench in the cloud. The digital services platform is a combination of the AppAgile and ApiOmat solutions. AppAgile is a PaaS solution that provides IT developers with a technical development environment, whereas ApiOmat serves as a BaaS (Backend as a Service) solution which supports software developers in transforming digital processes end-to-end into the form of mobile apps and websites. The platform scales automatically and is run in a German data center in compliance with strict security and data privacy regulations.
The digitization of business processes – or even complete business models – involves a transition to digital services so that enterprises can react to dynamic markets quickly, with high levels of flexibility and security.
Denis Loh, software architect for mobile apps at T Systems MMS, explains: "The trend is moving in the direction of 'mobile first.' In other words, the top priority is ensuring the extremely fast development and deployment of mobile applications. We can dramatically accelerate the entire process with ApiOmat. For example, ApiOmat reduces dependence on backend development, and at the same time its modular components can be used to resolve repetitive problems with very little effort. When it comes to our core focus on the Internet of Things, where an extremely large number of backends is often required, we can come up with apps in just a few months," says Loh.
The advantages of both solutions stem from high flexibility and agility. Customers realize their projects much faster, and adding more functions is also easier.
"AppAgile enables us to give our customers the ability to set up their own ApiOmat installations," says Andreas Fey, CTO of Apinauten GmbH, which is headquartered in Leipzig (Germany) and Palo Alto (USA). "The scalability of the solution is fast and easy thanks to the use of standard technologies, and this also makes for fully automated maintenance and service tasks."
