Hewlett Packard Enterprise Brings Network Monitoring Software to Virtualized Network Infrastructure
New offering extends visibility into the virtual switching fabric to optimize network configuration and enhance service delivery
PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 14, 2015 – Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) today announced network management and visualization software for virtual networks, designed to give network operators end-to-end visibility of their entire network. Network Node Manager i (NNMi) provides organizations with complete visibility into their network topologies, maintains control, and extends their insight into the virtual switching fabric of their entire network.
The proliferation of virtualization technologies and the evolution within enterprise IT from a physical to a hybrid infrastructure is creating network management complexity. Virtual devices at the edge of the network are not visible to traditional network management systems and this issue makes troubleshooting connectivity problems a huge challenge. As a result, organizations struggle to determine how to place workloads on devices in the datacenter and determine their relative location and status.
The HPE NNMi software gives network managers the visibility into virtualized devices and topologies to help them ensure that their devices are connected, configured and performing as expected. When a device fails, NNMi can analyze events associated with the failure and help to recommend action. NNMi also provides predictive information that helps identify potential failures before they occur.
“Network managers today are unable to see a complete picture of their virtualized devices in real time, which limits their ability to ensure compliance and engineer the network for optimal performance” said Balaji Venkatraman, PhD, Director of Product Line Management, Hewlett Packard Enterprise. “We are the first in the industry to provide a broad suite of network management system software with integrated fault, performance, configuration and compliance management capability that enables customers to optimize workloads to maintain application performance and resilience.”
Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s NNMi software empowers network operators to perform rapid root-cause analysis to ensure the highest level of availability and performance and maintain control of their networking environment.
“Today’s network managers recognize that their existing tools are not designed to manage next-generation networks,” said Shamus McGillicuddy, Sr. Analyst at Enterprise Management Associates. “Adding separate tools to manage only virtual network elements adds to tool sprawl, which makes managing networks extremely challenging. Hewlett Packard Enterprise is addressing this challenge by delivering an enterprise-class network management system that allows network managers to view and manage their virtual network elements in context and normalized within their existing physical network.”
HPE is on the leading edge of the hybrid infrastructure transformation by providing insight with NNMi into a broad set of physical and virtualized network devices.
