Working in partnership with Stream Technologies, Jersey Telecom (JT), has rolled out a new LoRa network to provide cutting-edge IoT coverage to the island of Jersey. JT's LoRa network, consisting of around twelve LoRa gateways deployed throughout the island, marks a major investment in IoT and is representative of the rapid proliferation of LoRa technology.
Stream, a world leader in IoT connectivity, has worked closely with JT throughout the design and implementation of the network. Stream's award-winning IoT-X connectivity management platform, the Stream LoRaWAN™ network server and the company's dedicated enablement and support team of LoRa experts, Stream has helped JT to deploy Jersey's first LoRa network.
Stream LoRaWAN Network Server
JT's network is supported by Stream's LoRaWAN network server, which removes the complexity of rolling out LoRa networks. By subscribing to Stream's server, JT can register LoRa devices and set up applications quickly and easily.
Stream's robust LoRaWAN server decodes the data received from LoRa hardware and enables data to be routed via IoT-X, or forwarded to a third-party application, such as a hosted data visualisation tool.
To provide the maximum level of flexibility to customers, Stream has integrated the LoRaWAN server to function with LoRa gateways from leading network providers such as Kerlink, Link Labs, Sagemcom and Multitech.
IoT-X Connectivity Management Platform
IoT-X, Stream's award-winning connectivity management platform, is being used by JT to manage, monitor and monetise LoRa gateways, devices and subscriptions. IoT-X allows enterprise and MNO clients to manage connectivity, regardless of network type, whether it be satellite, cellular or LoRa.
IoT-X's rich feature set provides the JT network with:
- Fully featured subscriber management and provisioning features.
- Seamless invoicing and bill management systems.
- Event based decision making functionality.
- Advanced data routing capabilities.
Consultation and Support
Stream's team of LoRa experts collaborated extensively with JT, providing a range of consultation services, support and technical guidance. Stream's recommendations on issues such as hardware procurement, gateway placement and hardware configuration, has helped JT to maximise network coverage, drive down costs and minimise project timescales.
