Singapore, 3 August, 2016 – Singtel today unveiled its vision to help enterprises in the region to rapidly execute their digital strategies by offering a comprehensive suite of hybrid cloud solutions. This suite of new services includes the Data Center and Cloud Connect Service (DC Connect), a first-of-its-kind software-defined network service to be rolled out in Singapore, which allows firms to easily access and move their data seamlessly between a hybrid of public and private clouds in more than 20 data centres using a single connection.
Mr Bill Chang, Chief Executive Officer, Group Enterprise at Singtel said,
“After the initial euphoria to adopt cloud, many enterprises typically face challenges in rolling out hybrid cloud environments because of the technical complexities and capability shortfalls involved. This suite of services allows them to implement their cloud operations more easily.”
The DC Connect service also provides low latency, of less than one millisecond, and a secure web portal for companies to dynamically adjust their cloud network requirements and manage costs in a pay-as-you-use manner. Additionally, Singtel will launch the Cloud Life Cycle Service or CLS which allows firms to understand and chart a progression pathway between their present and future states of cloud maturity, as part of their digital strategies.
Augmenting the suite of cloud services, Singtel’s Liquid SkyTM is a platform that allows companies to orchestrate the setup and operations of their hybrid cloud environments. Through this offering, tasks such as provisioning, governance, spend management, configuration and catalogue development can be automated and scheduled via pre-defined workflows.
Mr Chang also added, “Leveraging its strength in cloud services, security and software defined networks, Singtel is in a unique position to help enterprises in their hybrid cloud adoption journey.”
These suite of cloud and software-based services are part of Singtel’s overall managed cloud offerings.
Singtel was recently conferred the title Telco Cloud Service Provider of the Year at the 2016 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards. The award was in recognition for the strong execution of the Group’s cloud strategy and its comprehensive range of cloud services. In addition, Singtel also won Best Cloud Computing Adoption Project – G-Cloud at the Cloud & DevOps World Awards 2016 and Telco Cloud of the Year at the Telco Cloud Forum Awards 2016.
