Statement on TM Forum leadership change

Via TM Forum Press & News

Nov 4, 2016

Peter Sany has stepped down today as President, CEO and Director of TM Forum, for personal reasons. In accordance with TM Forum’s governance bylaws, a process is being launched to identify and appoint a successor as quickly as possible based on the ongoing leadership needs of the organization. During this process, Deputy CEO Nik Willetts has been asked to assume full responsibility as the leader of the organization. Board Chairman David Pleasance will be working closely with Nik and the senior leadership team.

We would like to thank Peter for his dedication and service to TM Forum, both as a Board member and Ambassador and then as President and CEO. During his tenure with the Forum, Peter expanded the focus of the organization into other industry verticals. This included establishing a new business-led Smart City Council, launching a growing Smart City InFocus event in China and establishing a Smart City Maturity & Benchmark Model. TM Forum’s flagship conference, TM Forum Live! in Nice, also grew in prominence during Peter’s tenure. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

TM Forum remains fully committed to the strategic direction set by the Board of senior industry executives. We are focused on helping our members transform for success in the digital world, providing the tools and collaborative capabilities to enable them to drive digital transformation and ecosystem growth. And we will continue to serve the changing needs of our core membership, delivering significant value across our core topics which include:

  • Digital Business Transformation
  • OSS/BSS for Digital Ecosystems – the evolution of Frameworx including Open APIs
  • Zero-touch Operations, Orchestration & Management, including hybrid network management
  • Internet of Everything and 5G Monetization & Management (B2B2x)
  • Data Analytics & Customer Centricity

TM Forum has charted a course for accelerating progress on these topics over the coming months, and we encourage our members to attend the new TM Forum Live! Asia conference in Singapore next month during which many exciting developments will be showcased.
