ZTE Wins Exclusive Spectrum Refarming Contract from Vinaphone

ZTE to help Vinaphone reallocate GSM-designated spectrum to provide UMTS services

13 October 2015, Shenzhen, China- ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, announced the company was awarded an exclusive contract by Vinaphone in the middle area of Vietnam for radio spectrum refarming to optimize services and facilitate future network planning.

ZTE will develop solutions to Vinaphone to re-allocate spectrum resources in the 900MHz frequency band, as well as help Vinaphone expand network capacity in the 2100MHz frequency band. Vinaphone will be using ZTE's advanced distributed SDR base stations, unified MicroTCA platform, as well as new RRUs, and unified hardware platform and network management system.

ZTE will help Vinaphone, the third -largest operator with more than 26 % market share; reallocate some of its GSM-designated spectrum to provide UMTS services.

ZTE's solutions allow for fast installation, with the additional advantage of simplifying network maintenance. The project is expected to complete in 2016, involving networks that cover around a third of Vietnam'€™s area and about 20 million users.
